A Latin pastry chef and nutritionist who returned to writing after life takes to a new home in Panama wants to share some of her life and culinary experiences with you!
PATRICIA MCCAUSLAND-GALLO born in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia has BS in Foods and Nutrition form LSU, together with a degree in School of Retort Operations from the FDA. She studied pastry and baking at Lenôtre in France and the American Institute of Baking in Kansas. Daughter of pastry chef she started working at the bakery at the age of 13. She later had her own bakery in the city of Cali until she moved to Panama in 2001. She has written for newspapers in Colombia, El Heraldo, El Diario del Caribe y La Revista Carrusel de El Tiempo in Colombia and La Prensa and the coffee zone Bajarque Times in Panama. She has two books currently in the English market Passion for Coffee 2008, winner of the Silver medal by Independent Publisher Book Awards and Secrets of Colombian Cooking, 2004. Pasión por el Café won Best Single Subject Food Book in Latin America by Edouard Cointreau´s Gourmand Awards in 2006. Coauthored Essentials of Latin Cooking for Williams Sonoma 2009, and Foods of Colombia and Veneuela, 2011 . Her latest book C'ometelo Flaca.
